Welcome to Malton Mavericks Youth Group & Malton Mavericks Gym League

 

 

 

 The Malton Mavericks Gym League started as an idea, building on the platform of a handful of community members coming together with a shared passion for the sport. With its inception in early 2006, the Maverick name quickly expanded to address the inclusive sporting needs of children, youth, and adults alike. The league now consists of countless volunteers, organizers, certified referees, and all-star talent.

 

Evolving from a simple pickup game, the league is now structured around drafts, General Managers, Commissioner Review, ghost writer Captain Maverick, and score keepers. Distinctive to all members of the league, player and non-player alike, is the standard of professionalism on and off the arena. The MMGL also aims to adapt to current modes of communication, with an online presence via the Malton Mavericks website, smartphone apps, and Twitter ID.

 

Going beyond the game, the MMGL is also affiliate with the Malton Mavericks Youth Club. The MMYC coordinates weekly programs for elementary school children that focus on sport and community involvement. Available to the children are also OCT certified teachers to facilitate academic achievement outside of the gym, to help achieve true potential in every avenue of life. The objective is to model a future generation of young stars and community leaders with the help of our existing leaders and veterans in the MMGL.

 

Our mission statement is simple: Challenge. Believe. Achieve.

 

With continued support and interest we hope to further align the Maverick name with our mission statement.
