Week 6 Previews

Hawks Vs Nordiques @ 9:15 pm

The winless Hawks will take on the undefeated Nordiques this week in a game that all but a few have already concluded. The Nords have boasted strong defense and netminding this season, and have become the de facto champs to topple. The Hawks will be facing an uphill battle as there will be a need to ensure all legs are presented and firing both periods.

Bruins Vs Jets @ 10:15 pm

The Bruins will look to get within reach of the Jets if they can manage a win this week. The Bruins are coming off of a tough loss and will be looking to muster some motivation against a team that came off of a difficult win. Analysts are leaning towards a Jets win if all players can show up, but it is still very close to call.

Week 5 Summaries

Jets defeat Kings 9-8

The Kings and Jets put on a hell of a show with a constant back and forth. The Kings came out gunning with a first period hat trick from Gopi Johal. Despite the early confidence boost, the Jets pushed back with a 4-0 run thanks to Razi Ahmed and Arif Hanslod. With some more back and forth, the Jets held on for a slim 7-5 lead. The Jets pounced quickly in the second with a goal from Safi Ahmed to lead 8-5. Hoping to pull away, the Kings netted three more thanks to Johal and Matinder Dulku. With the game tied, the Jets’ Yusuf Ingar would net the game winner to give his team a hard-earned 9-8 win.

Nordiques defeat Bruins 8-5

The undefeated Nords took on the Bruins in a game that had both teams short missing key players. The Bruins came out strong with a quick goal from Syed Ahmed. The Nords responded with a trio thanks to Khan, Sandhu, and Kazi. The Bruins’ Sufyan Kazi would net back to back goals to tie this up at the half. The second saw a pair from Zaheer Kazi, who would finish with a hat trick, to give the Nordiques the 5-3 lead. Despite a strong Bruins attempt in the second to keep up, the Nords’ defense locked them out to hold on for the 8-5 win. Kudos to their netminder Karanvir Singh for keeping the Bruins in check.
