Week 8 Previews
Falcons vs Hawks @ 9:30 pm
The Hawks will take on the Falcons in what is expected to be a challenging but entertaining game. The Hawks have dominated but this is the MMGL where anything can happen. Expect them to remain vigilant as a loss today can have repercussions for playoffs.
Nordiques vs Bruins @ 10:30 pm
The Nords will look to make easy work of the Bruins, or will they? The Bruins have time and time again shown heart and have always surprised in the playoffs. This is one last shot to show what they are made of.
Week 6 Summaries
Nordiques defeat Falcons 7-5
The Nords and Falcons faced off in a game that saw both teams give it their all. The Falcons came out with a thirst for blood, scoring the first four goals of the game. Huzzy Panchbhaya was on fire with a hat trick on the night. The Nords only goal in the first came from Prateek Johal, as netminder Khanji was playing his best game. That being said, there were several lapses in the game where the Falcons just fell apart, allowing the Nords to push back hard in the second. Johal added a second along with Moose Khan and Anmol Sharma to tie things up. The lone goal from the Falcons would come courtesy of Panchbhaya, as the Nords walked away with a 7-5 win thanks to distributed scoring. What a game!
Hawks defeat Bruins 9-4
The Bruins took on the Hawks in a game that saw both teams missing their respective GMs, in addition to the Bruins missing out on HB’s presence. He sure wasn’t missed in the first as the Bruins kept pace with the Hawks goal for goal, ending the period at three each. A pair from Mohit Sharma would keep the Bruins in the game. The second period was all Hawks as the Bruins ran out of gas early and could not keep up. The Hawks scored three straight to start the second and finished the period with pairs of goals from Arif Billa and Rehan Kazi. Hawks won this one 9-4 after a sloppy start.
Week 6 Previews
Nordiques vs Falcons @ 9:30 pm
The Falcons will take on the Nordiques who are coming off of a strong confidence boosting win. Nords' netminder Kaleem Mirza will be put on the spot this week to test his mettle against the Falcons who are in need of a win themselves.
Hawks vs Bruins @ 10:30 pm
The Hawks have been dominating and will look to catch another W against the Bruin gang this week. It would help the Bruins' chances if they got a full squad to go head to head with the big guns of the league.
Week 5 Summaries
Hawks defeat Falcons 11-3
The Hawks and Falcons were both without their GMs and left it to the teams to fend on their own. The Hawks had a strong first half with 5 first period goals, while the Falcons could only muster one through Shahrukh Shah. The second half saw another pair from the Hawks via Maaz Panchbhaya, who would finish the night with a hat trick. Needless to say, this was not a strong night for Falcons' Ridwaan Khanji, for whom the night fell 11-3.
Nordiques defeat Bruins 11-4
The Bruins showed up with a severely depleted bench but still gave the Nords a run for their money. Mohit Sharma and Zahid Patel would net the first two for the Bruins, before Abdul Kazi would cut the lead in half. Bruins led 3-2 at the half. The second period saw exhaustion catch up with the Bruin gang as the Nords pummeled them with 7 straight goals to end the game and win this contest 11-4.
