Week 4 Previews

Nordiques vs Bruins @ 9:15 pm

 

The Bruins and Nords will face off first this week. The Nords have quickly established themselves as a high-scoring team, while the Bruins are hoping to avoid a losing streak. All eyes will be on netminder Mohammed AK Patel to keep things in check and restore faith in the Bruin gang

 

 

Hawks vs Jets @ 10:15 pm

 

The Jets and Hawks will battle it out next in what can only be deemed to be a close game. The Jets are hoping to bounce back from last week's SO loss. Armed with a full bench, this week may prove to be different in the rematch. As for the Hawks, lapses in defense will need to be tightened up.

 

Week 3 Summaries

Hawks defeat Jets 8-7 SO

 

The Hawks and Jets went at it in yet another display of great hockey. The Hawks struck first with a goal from Sadik Patel, taking advantage of a missing Ricky Saili. The Jets pushed back thanks to goals from Abdullah Patel, Sufyaan Shaikh, and Shoaib Rangrez. Jets were leading 5-2 at the end of the first. The second period saw the efforts of a comeback with the Hawks scoring three straight to start, featuring a pair from Sufyan Kazi. Anish Kara and Abdullah Patel would give the Jets the brief 2 goal lead, before the Hawks' GM and Gogna would tie things up to force a shootout. The Jets made 1 of 3, while the Hawks managed to get two past netminder Khanji for the 8-7 win.

 

Nordiques defeat Bruins 13-8 

 

The Bruins took on the Nords in a fast paced game. The Nords struck first with a pair, before Abdullah Panchbhaya would get the Bruins up on the board. Both teams traded goals back and forth in a hectic first period. The Nords took control later on with a stretch of 5 consecutive goals, including a pair from Syed Ahmed. Nords led 8-3 at the half. The Bruins made an attempt at a comeback in the second, with goals from Arif Hanslod and company but time was not on their side. The Nords walk away with a convincing 13-8 win.

 

Week 3 Previews

Hawks vs Jets @ 9:15 pm

 

The Hawks and Jets are both coming off of tough losses. The Jets will aim to have a full roster this week as the one-man Ricky Saili team approach is not sustainable. As for the Hawks, last week's game was a humbling experience that should give foresight to the competition this season.

 

 

Bruins vs Nordiques @ 10:15 pm

 

The Bruins and Nords are hoping to build off of momentum from last week's wins. There can only be one winner and it will come down to whoever has more legs. Both teams have shown the willingness to push as much as needed to get the winning goal. Be on the lookout for Arif Hanslod and Syed Ahmed in terms of offensive output.

 

Week 2 Summaries

Nordiques defeat Jets 10-7

 

The Jets and Nords kicked things off this week, missing some key players. The Jets were without netminder Ridwaan Khanji and Shoaib Rangrez, while the Nords were missing Pavan Dulai and Fahad Panchbhaya. The Nords started off strong against sub goalie Abbas Shaikh, with Syed Ahmed leading the way. The Jets aimed to push back with a valiant effort from Ricky Saili, who found the back of the net five times to keep his team in the game. That being said, Prateek Johal and Syed Ahmed combined for 7 goals to walk away with the 10-7 win. 

 

 

Bruins defeat Hawks 9-8

 

The Bruins and Hawks took to the stage next, with the Bruins missing a number of key players. With the help of two call ups, the game got underway. Arif Hanslod took to scoring quick for the Bruins, who combined with Zaheer Kazi for 7 out of 9 Bruin goals. Sufyan Kazi netted a pair for the Hawks, with both teams tied at 5 each in the first half. The second half saw a strong start from the Bruins, with the Hawks slowly chipping away at the lead to tie the game at 8-8. The tie breaker came from none other than Arif Billa, for the 9-8 win.
