The Hawks netted six first period goals, half of which came from Mohammed Kazi. The Bruins managed to get two past netminder Abbas Shaikh to stay in the game. The second period was a lot tighter, but a late double from Suhaib Shaikh would seal the deal for the Hawks, who walked away with a comfortable 10-5 win.

The Nords dominated the first, with Sufyan Kazi and Shoaib Khan netting a pair each to take a commanding 6-2 lead into the second. Winter 2018 Team Previews
This January, the MMGL turns 13 seasons old. Never had we thought way back in 2012 that the league would entertain this much success and longevity. A sincere thanks to all players, admin, and fans for contributing to our ongoing success.
The Jets picked Yusuf Ingar as their first round draft pick; with GM Ricky Saili knowing exactly what kind of team he wants this season. With Ridwaan Khanji between the pipes, expect the Jets to be an offensive demon this season, with Jason Gogna, Ingar, and Saili upfront.
The Sharks' junior GM Mohamed Badger Patel made no hesitation in drafting Rahman Rana as his first overall. With Badger between the pipes, and Rana leading a young gun offense consisting of Maaz Panchbhaya and Shahrukh Shah, this team is showing a lot of potential.
Hawks' GM Mohammed Kazi made no mistake this draft, picking up returning Omar Husain as his first overall. Kazi is betting a lot on Husain to carry the team when push comes to shove, all with the capable skills of netminder Abbas Shaikh holding it down in net. Expect some great chemistry between Kazi, Arif Billa, and Suhaib Shaikh.
The reigning champion Nordiques once again paired up Syed Ahmed with GM Shoaib Khan. This tandem has worked before, and as they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it. With Kaleem Mirza between the pipes, this team is a mix of veterans and young guns. It will be interesting to see how strategies develop as the season moves ahead.
GM Aziz Patel of the Bruins drafted heavily in favour of the East End, but not without taking Shahzad Rana as his first overall. The Bruins will be going with Huzzy Panchbhaya in net; unorthodox at best, but it could turn out to be a trump card in their favour. Expect this team to be heavily stacked on the defensive end, scoring goals when it matters the most.
And the Falcons' GM Abdul Manjra took Mohammed AK as their go-to first round pick. AK is expected to hold things down between the pipes, while the likes of Manjra and Muzammil Khan take to the offense. The Falcons pack quite a punch with a roster featuring Divesh Sharma and Abdullah Panchbhaya. Be on the lookout for some come from behind wins.
