Nordiques Vs Jets @ 10:45 pm

The winless Jets will be taking on the Nords at the end of the night, in a bid to get their first win. This will be an uphill battle as the Nords offence has been on point so far this season. Expect GM Ricky Saili to make a few moves before the trade deadline.

Week 3 Summaries

Sharks defeat Nordiques 8-6

The Sharks and Nords faced off first this week, with the Sharks striking first thanks to Fayaz Bhayat. The Nords managed to net a pair soon after thanks to Syed Ahmed and Captain Khan. This was by far the most electrifying first half seen so far, with both teams trading goals back and forth. With a tied score of 5-5 at the end of the first, only Yusuf Ingar had scored more than once. Going into the second, the Sharks came out attacking and held it down, scoring three straight to walk away with the win. Ingar would score all 3, giving him a 7 point total on the night. Syed Ahmed's second of the night would be too little too late, as the Sharks win this 8-6 and remain undefeated on the season.

Falcons defeat Bruins 8-5

The Bruins and Falcons faced off next with the game going back and forth in the first. The Falcons were missing a few bodies, and needed a substitute to help even things up. The Bruins struck first with a goal from Erfan Bhanapatel. The Falcons equalized minutes later, and both teams traded goals, with a 4-4 draw at the end of the first. The second half saw a stronger Falcons defence, allowing the offence to go to work. Maaz Panchbhaya netted a second period hat trick to give his team the convincing 8-5 win. The Bruins now sit under .500 while the Falcons move to the top 3.

Hawks defeat Jets 8-6

To cap off the night, the Jets took on the Hawks, both teams without a win thus far. The Hawks struck first with a goal from Jalil Shaikh, equalized half a minute later by Ricky Saili. The first period, however, was controlled by the Hawks, who managed to net three more featuring a pair from Zahid Panchbhaya. To start the second, Maaz Bharucha would score for the Jets to cut the lead down to 4-2. The Hawks led 6-3 before the Jets would force a comeback to tie with a pair of goals from Divesh Sharma. That being said, Aziz Patel and Mohammed Kazi would be the heroes scoring back to back goals in the last minute, winning this 8-6. The Jets are still without a win.

Week 3 Previews

Nordiques Vs Sharks @ 8:45 pm

The 2-0 Sharks will take on the 2-0 Nords in the battle for dominance this week. This is one game you absolutely cannot miss. The Sharks have exceeded all expectations thus far, but this will be their biggest challenge yet. The Nords have been flourishing off of the offensive tandem of the Khan brothers and Syed Ahmed.  At this point, it will come down to the goalies to determine who takes the top spot, and Badger has been making a strong case for it.

Bruins Vs Falcons @ 9:45 pm

The Bruins are coming off of a tough loss and will be looking to secure another victory, against a Falcons team that is vying for the same thing. Expect a strong showing from GM Suhaib Shaikh as his squad nears full strength this week. As for the Falcons, a nail biter of a win should be enough to motivate them to consistent winning ways. This team has yet to unlock its true potential.

Hawks Vs Jets @ 10:45 pm

In the battle of last place, the Jets and Hawks will cap off the night. Analysts are leaning towards the Hawks, as they have shown tenacity amidst some unlucky bounces. It will be interesting to see if the entire roster is available this week. As for the Jets, something's gotta give if GM Ricky Saili is going to expect some W's to come his way.

Week 2 Summaries

Sharks defeat Hawks 4-3 SO

If you missed the Sharks and Hawks matchup, you must be kicking yourself right now. This might have been one of the best games played in MMGL history. The Sharks got two goals in early on thanks to Karan Bagga and Fahad Panchbhaya, on Hawks goalie Kaleem Mirza. The Hawks just could not get through netminder Badger, who led his team by example. The Hawks put out their best offence in Mohammed Kazi, Aziz Patel, and Shoaib Rangrez; but could not solve the Badger. It was only until 5 minutes were left in the game that the Hawks caught a break with a powerplay and GM Mohammed Kazi would net a pair to tie things up. Yusuf Ingar would give the Sharks the lead minutes later only to be tied by Aziz Patel. This game went to shootout, with Ingar winning it for the Sharks while Badger stopped all three Hawks' attempts. Sharks win this 4-3 SO and are 2-0 on the season.

Falcons defeat Jets 8-7

The Jets and Falcons faced off next with both teams coming off tough losses. The Jets struck first with a goal from Muaz Bharucha, but the Falcons gained the upper hand quickly with a trio of goals. The Falcons took control of the first period with a 5-2 lead, but the Jets would push back in the second with goals from Divesh Sharma and Ricky Saili. The Jets would take the 7-6 lead with a goal from Mohammed Bhad at the 7 minute mark. The Falcons were determined not to give up and slowly inched their way back to tie with a goal from Umar Panchbhaya. With 32.1 seconds left on the clock, Panchbhaya would strike again to seal the deal past netminder Abbas Shaikh for the 8-7 win. Jets remain 0-2 on the season.

Nordiques defeat Bruins 7-5

The Nords and Bruins did not disappoint, with the Bruins welcoming back Erfan Bhanapatel from injury. The Nords controlled the first half of the game, with goals from GM Shoaib Khan, Syed Ahmed, Abrar Gangat, and Muzammil Khan. GM Suhaib Shaikh would have the lone goal for the Bruins in the first. The second half was more optimistic, with Abdulhamid Kazi cutting the lead down to two with a huge goal. Nords led 6-3 at the 7 minute mark, and the game got real interesting with back to back Bruin goals thanks to Bhanapatel and Faizan Kazi at the 48 second mark. However, all hope was lost once Shoaib Khan hit the nail on the coffin netting the last goal of the night at the 10 second mark. Nords win this one 7-5.

Week 2 Previews

Hawks Vs Sharks @ 8:45 pm

The Hawks and Sharks will kick things off this week. The Hawks are coming off of a loss and GM Mohammed Kazi made an immediate trade in an effort to bolster his team. The Hawks welcome new additions Shoaib Rangrez and Kaleem Mirza, who can hopefully bring the team to .500 this week. The Sharks on the other hand will be looking to cruise to another win as the team seemed to gel together quite nicely last week. Expect another solid performance from the offence.

Jets Vs Falcons @ 9:45 pm

The Jets and Falcons will be up next, with the Jets welcoming Abbas Shaikh between the pipes. Both teams are without a win and that will all change. The Jets seem to be lacking in offensive toughness while the Falcons are simply looking for a way to realize their true potential. GM Abdul Manjra will need to try something different this week if he is going to want to see results.

Nordiques Vs Bruins @ 10:45 pm

The Nords and Bruins will finish things off, in what is anticipated to be a high scoring game. Both teams are 1-0 on the season, and bring the best of the best. The Nords will be leveraging a lot from the Khan brothers, who alongside Syed Ahmed have proved to be a constant threat. As for GM Suhaib Shaikh's Bruingang, they've provided a constant reminder that impossible is nothing. Don't miss this one folks.
