Week 7 Previews

Falcons Vs Hawks @ 8:45 pm

The 5-1 Falcons will take on the 3-3 Hawks this week. The Falcons are adamant on winning the top spot this season and have put up the points to make that apparent. That being said, expect a strong game the Hawks squad as the likes of Yusuf Ingar and Abdul Manjra will be out on the hunt for points.

Bruins Vs Sharks @ 9:45 pm

The 4-2 Bruins will take on the 3-3 Sharks in a game that could see both teams swap spots in the rankings. The Sharks are coming off a big win and may be reeling a bit too high, as the Bruins are not a team to be underestimated. They have an elite level goalie in Ridwaan Khanji and the motivational factor to leapfrog to first place.

Jets Vs Nordiques @ 10:45 pm

It's the battle of the basement with the Jets and the Nords, although the standings do not tell the full story. The Jets have been plagued by poor attendance while the Nords have individual talent not translating into team effort. Expect an interesting game from these two, as there is still time to make up lost ground.

Week 6 Summaries

Falcons defeat Nordiques 6-5

The Falcons and Nordiques faced off this week with the Falcons missing both Musa Bhoola and Muaz Bharucha. They called in Ridwaan Khanji to mind the net, and it was a safe gamble as they took the lead with a goal from Huzaifa Panchbhaya. The Nords tied it up with a goal from Sadik Patel, with both teams stuck in a 2-2 tie going into the second. The second half saw a triple goal outburst from the Falcons thanks to a pair from Faizan Kazi and a single from Zahid Patel. The Nords would cut the lead to one thanks to an effort from Suhaib Shaikh and Shahzad Rana. But the Falcons would have the last laugh thanks to the game winning goal from Umar Panchbhaya.

Sharks defeat Jets 15-1

The Jets and Sharks faced off next, with the Sharks boasting a full squad while the Jets were without Shoaib Khan, Aziz Patel, and Abu Patel. As you would suspect, the Sharks absolutely dominated this game with 7 first period gaols including a hat trick from Jason Gogna. Show some class next time, perhaps? The second half was more of the same as the Sharks routed the Jets 15-1. Lone goal for the Jets coming from Fahad Panchbhaya.

Hawks defeat Bruins 7-4

The Bruins and Hawks capped the night off, with the Hawks bringing a full squad and the Bruins missing Jr Rana and Mohammed Bhad. Both teams came to play and put on a show for the fans. The Hawks struck twice in the first with goals from Huzaifa Patel and Abdul Manjra. The Bruins would cut the lead in half with a goal from Ammar Panchbhaya. Moving into the second, the Hawks slowly edged away thanks to a pair of goals from Shahrukh Shah and Safwaan Patel. The Hawks won this one relatively comfortably, 7-4.

Week 6 Previews

Falcons Vs Nordiques @ 8:45 pm

Both the Falcons and Nords are coming off of some seriously hurting losses. The Falcons dropped their first contest of the season last week and will be looking to re-establish their dominance. As for the Nords, they are no longer safe from being the last team in the standings. Perhaps the flurry of trades in recent weeks will provide the spark needed to get the win.

Jets Vs Sharks @ 9:45 pm

The Jets and Sharks will battle it out next as the Jets will be looking to ride the momentum of winning their first game of the season last week. Perhaps the chemistry is finally clicking and they've managed to figure out their game. As for the Sharks, a lot is in the balance here this week, as a loss for them can have some serious shuffle ups in the bottom of the table.

Bruins Vs Hawks @ 10:45 pm

The Bruins will be looking to capture the top spot in the standings this week as they look to continue their dominance in the league. A loss early on in the night by the Falcons should be motivation enough to get out there and grab the win. I would be hesitant however, as the Hawks do show a lot of promise.

Week 5 Summaries

Bruins defeat Nordiques 9-1

The Bruins and Nords started the night off, and the Bruins had come in with a mindset to absolutely dominate. They were all over the Nords in the first half with 8 first period goals, featuring pairs from Maaz Panchbhaya, Mohammed Bhad, and Rahman Rana. The Nords were held scoreless as netminder Ridwaan Khanji was an impenetrable wall in the first. The Nords got one goal in the second thanks to Zahid Panchbhaya, and the Bruins walked away with a convincing 9-1 win.

Sharks defeat Hawks 8-5

The Hawks, having acquired Abdul Manjra from the Jets, were looking to score some more points against the Ricky Saili-less Sharks. The Hawks got on board with a goal from Zaheer Kazi, but were outscored 5-1 in the remainder of the period thanks to a strong game from Syed Ahmed and Jason Gogna. The Sharks led 5-2 going into the half. The second half saw the Hawks cut the deficit to one thanks to back to back goals from Yusuf Ingar and Safwaan Patel. Unfortunately that's where the comeback stopped as GM Shahrukh Shah would take a penalty. The Sharks' Syed Ahmed capitalized for his third goal of the night and the rest is history. Sharks won this one adding two insurance goals at the end, 8-5. Syed Ahmed finished with a strong performance, 7 points on the night.

Jets defeat Falcons 6-5

The Jets and Falcons game was a sure thing, but things changed as the Jets picked up Aziz Patel from the Hawks and had goalie Kaleem Mirza sub in. The Jets struck first with a pair from Fuaad Kazi before the Falcons established dominance with four straight, highlighting a pair from Huzzy Panchbhaya. Leading 4-2 going into the second, the Falcons added another thanks to Umar Panchbhaya and were sure to have won this game. That's when the Jets staged their comeback with goals from Shoaib Khan, Fahad Panchbhaya, and Aziz Patel to tie things up in the last five minutes! This game went to shootout and the Jets would net 2 out of 3 to hand the Falcons their first loss of the season! What a way to grab your first win.

Week 5 Previews

Bruins Vs Nordiques @ 8:45 pm

The Nords and Bruins will go at it this week, with the Nordiques aiming to tie things up in the standings with the Bruins. The Bruins are coming off of a heavy loss and will be looking to get a win against a Nords team that seems to have found their offensive mojo. This should be an interesting one.

Hawks Vs Sharks @ 9:45pm

The Hawks and Sharks will face off next, with the Sharks trying to get back to winning ways. It's not for a lack of trying, a few lucky bounces here and there will be enough to give them the winning edge they need. As for the Hawks, a win will solidify their hold for now in the top three.

Falcons Vs Jets @ 10:45pm

And finally, the Jets and Falcons will take a swing at things, with the Falcons aiming to go 5-0 while the Jets work hard to avoid being the only winless team. Expect big plays from the Falcons squad as history is testament to the mighty falling at the hands of the weak. As for the Jets, it's do or die at this point in the season.

Week 4 Summaries

Hawks defeat Jets 7-5

The Jets and Hawks faced off first this week in a game that saw both teams battle it out tit for tat. The Jets struck first with a goal from Fuaad Kazi before the Hawks got on board with three straight goals thanks to a Yusuf Ingar hat trick. The second period saw a Jets regroup effort as GM Fahad Panchbhaya and Shoaib Khan both chipped in a goal each to tie the game. Ingar was definitely on fire that night, taking advantage of a missing goalie in Mohammed AK Patel, and scored his 4th while adding two assists to maintain a lead big enough just out of the Jets' reach. A last minute effort by Abu Patel would fall short as the Hawks confidently walked away with this one 7-5.

Falcons defeat Bruins 5-2

The Bruins and Falcons faced off next, with both teams struggling to get any offence going on. It wasn't until late in the first that the Bruins would net the first goal of the game thanks to Shoaib Rangrez. The Falcons scored two of their own just before period end thanks to Huzzy Panchbhaya and Zahid Patel. The second person saw only one goal from the Bruins from Sohel Ingar. The Falcons netted three and walked away with a relatively easy 5-2 win.

Nordiques defeat Sharks 9-7

And to cap off the night, the Sharks and Nords gave us a hell of a show. The Sharks struck first with a goal from Syed Ahmed, before the Nords netted a pair thanks to Shahzad Rana and Vikram Saili. Both teams traded goals back and forth, with the Nords holding onto the 4-3 lead going into the second. The second period saw an outburst of Nords dominance, with Shaikh's team netting four goals to start thanks to Abrar Gangat (2), Sufyaan Shaikh, and Suhaib Shaikh. The Sharks had a late rally with a hat trick from Syed Ahmed but he was getting absolutely no help from the team, and dropped this contest 907 in favour of the Nords.
