“If you are afraid of failure you don't deserve to be successful!” – Charles Barkley.

Not exactly the best representation of the MMGL, but the man makes a solid point. For the first time in 10 seasons, the Bruins franchise will be playing in the Finals. And both teams playing this monumental game have never won the Verdi Cup in those 10 seasons. And to really drive the point home, both teams finished at the bottom of the standings this season. The takeaway is that nothing can be definitive, even in the face of consistent failure. Both teams have overcome adversity, player issues, injuries, and controversy to reach this point. GM Suhaib Shaikh has been pedaling the #BruinGang slogan for years now, finally reaping the fruit of his hard labour. As for the Sharks, it took repeated hits to the ego to rise as a phoenix from the ashes.

The Sharks ended the season 3-6-1 with 7 points and the Bruins just underneath with a 2-8 record and 6 total points. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined this outcome. The Sharks boast a very quick and solid offense in the hands of Bhoola and Patel brothers. The Bruins flaunt the best goalie in the league and a magical trio of Shaikh, Shah, and Gill. Every analyst and critic cannot make a single solid prediction of how this game will turn out. All we know is, you gotta be here watching this live.

Friday December 16th at the MCC is where you wanna be to catch this historic game. We are about to have ourselves a brand new Verdi Cup winner. If you're a fan of underdog stories, it really doesn't get much better than this.
