Week 4 Summaries
Hawks defeat Falcons 8-4
The Falcons and Hawks went at it in a game that did not turn out how fans had expected. These are the top two teams in the league battling it out. The Hawks jumped to a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Muhammad Iqbal and Huzaifa Panchbhaya. The Falcons were able to cut the lead in half thanks to a goal from Yusuf Ingar. For the Falcons, Fayaz Kazi was the replacement in net and had to fend off a buzzing Hawks team that dominated gameplay and possession. The Hawks started the second with a pair of quick goals from Umar Panchbhaya and never looked back. The Falcons played nervously with too many turnovers, allowing the Hawks to finish with three unanswered goals for the 8-4 win. Seeking change, the Falcons traded Sufyan Shaikh and Abu Patel to the Jets for Mohammed Ingar, Sufyan Kazi, and Fuad Kazi.
Nordiques defeat Jets 10-5
Next up, the Jets and Nords went at it with the Jets reeling for a big win. The Jets opened scoring with a goal from Fuad kazi and seemed to keep up with the Nords with a 3-3 tie to finish the first period. The second period was marred with Jets penalties and they just could not stay out of the box. The Nords pounced on the opportunity and saw goals from Shoaib Rangrez, Faizan Kazi, Syed Ahmed and Maaz Panchbhaya. The Jets could not force anything that resembled a comeback and dropped this one 10-5. Post-game, the Nords traded Zahid Patel and picked up defenseman Navdeep Virdi.
Bruins defeat Sharks 10-9
The Bruins and Sharks finished things off in a game that took many an unexpected turn. The Sharks opened scoring with 5 (yes, five) straight to establish dominance early on thanks to Sadik Patel, Aziz Patel, and Musa Bhoola. Newly acquired goalie Kaleem Mirza was unstoppable in net, making big saves to make life miserable for the Bruins. The Bruins seemed to crack the code towards the end of the period with three straight goals thanks to Safwaan Patel (2) and GM Suhaib Shaikh in a span of 45 seconds. The Bruins scored another thanks to Shaikh to bring the game within one to start the second period. Sharks scored another three to solidify their lead, but the Bruins would not give up, scoring 4 goals to tie it with a minute left in the game. Shahrukh Shah would be the hero scoring the game winner with 35.3 seconds left on the clock. Bruins win this one 10-9 in a thriller of a game.
