Week 4 Previews

Hawks vs Falcons @ 8:45pm

The undefeated Falcons will be looking to take on the Hawks in a game that is bound bring about sparks. Abdul Manjra and co have solidified their status as the team to beat this season, assuming they are unaffected by goalie outages. As for the Hawks, missing their rookie due to suspension will need to amp up their energy to force a win that seems uphill.

Jets vs Nordiques @ 9:45pm

The Nords will be looking to keep the Jets away from their first regulation time win as they battle it out next. The Syed Ahmed Nordiques have been hustling hard this season, proving their effectiveness through strong goaltending. As for the Jets, the momentum from last week's SO win should be enough drive for them to force another win.

Sharks vs Bruins @ 10:45pm

The new look Sharks will be taking on the Bruin gang in the final game of the night. Welcoming a new rookie, veteran, and goalie, the Sharks will be looking to utilize their newfound strengths. As for the Bruins, tardiness cost them an important game last week. You can expect them to be on time this game and force a win if they play their cards right.

Week 3 Summaires

Nordiques defeat Sharks 6-5

The Nords and Sharks went at it with both teams missing key players. The Sharks were without a suspended Shadab Patel while the Nords inserted Joe Bruno in net in lieu of missing Kaleem Mirza. The Nords struck first with a pair thanks to Maaz Panchbhaya and Syed Ahmed. The Sharks fought back with a goal from Musa Bhoola, only to be met with another goal from Maaz Panchbhaya to take the 3-1 first period lead. The Nords had control of most of the gameplay. Goalie Mohamed Bashir was outstanding for the Sharks, playing a big game with key saves to keep the Sharks within reach. The second period saw a pair of goals from Aziz Patel to help solidify the Nords' lead. The Sharks aimed to fight back with a late pair of goals from Muhammad Patel but their rally fell short as the Nords win this one 6-5. Seeing this, the Sharks traded netminder Mohamed Bashir, Zahid Patel, and Mohammed Dippy Patel to the Nords post-game for Kaleem Mirza, Abraar Gangat, and Aziz Patel. Talk about making impactful change!

Falcons defeat Bruins 10-7

The Bruins and Falcons battled next with the Bruins missing #BruinGang GM Suhaib Shaikh and their netminder. The Falcons took shameless advantage with four open net goals thanks to Abdul Manjra (2), Yusuf Ingar, and Karan Bagga. With all players eventually showing up, the game settled down and could have gone either way. The Falcons led 7-3 after one. The Bruins controlled more game play in the second, scoring 4 goals but the early start gave the Falcons the edge to win this one 10-7. As a silver lining, Suhaib Shaikh, Shahrukh Shah, and Mhajor Gill combined for 6 goals on the night. Falcons remain undefeated 3-0 on the season.

Jets defeat Hawks 10-9 SO

The final game of the night went to the winless Jets and the Hawks. If scorecards could talk, this one would yell out in pure agony with the number of penalty minutes this game had. The Jets got on board first with a goal from Sufyan Kazi. Landing in some penalty trouble, the Hawks took advantage with a pair of goals. Kudos to Jason Gogna for keeping it tied with a short handed goal. The Jets held on to a one goal lead 5-4 after one. Both teams battled it out back and forth in the second with the game tied at 8 a piece. The Jets were called for a tripping penalty with 36 seconds left on the clock. With the ball barely hitting the floor, Jason Gogna would snipe it past goalie Ridwaan Khanji to make it 9-8. Talk about misery loving company, JR Rana would have the goal of a lifetime tying it with 10.5 seconds left on the clock. His goal would force a shootout that would ultimately be won by none other than Zahid Panchbhaya to give the Jets their very first win, 10-9.   As mentioned earlier, the league has zero tolerance for violent outbursts. Keep in mind this is a community ball hockey league and no one here is destined for international stardom. Keep the egos in check.
