Week 9 Summaries
Bruins defeat Jets 11-6
The Bruins faced off against the Jets in a game that will go down in MMGL memory. The Jets were without Adil Patel and did not have a goalie to start the game. The Bruins took advantage and scored three straight to start the game with goals from Arif Hanslod, Sufyan Kazi, and Faizan Kazi. Ricky Saili scored the Jets' first 12 minutes into the game but the Bruins kept on pounding taking a 5-3 lead going into the half. The second period was dominated by the Bruins which included a pair of goals from GM Suhaib Shaikh to win this game in dramatic fashion 11-6.
Hawks defeat Nordiques 5-3
The Hawks and Nordiques faced off next in a game that was low scoring. The Hawks dominated early play with a trio of goals coming from Zabir Khannat, Aziz Patel, and Musa Bhoola. The Nords pushed back with a pair to cut the deficit down to one with goals from Riz Hassan and Shoaib Khan. If there was any chance for a comeback, it was shut down emphatically with a pair of goals from the Hawks in the second period. Aziz Patel and Bhoola scored their second goals of the night to win this one 5-3 against a morally deflated Nordiques squad.
Sharks defeat Falcons 7-4
And to cap the night off the Falcons and Sharks faced off in a twist. The Sharks, perhaps in a moment of jest, decided to put Abu Hafejee in net. The strategy seemed to pay off in the first period as they scored three goals to start the game courtesy of Umaar Panchbhaya (2) and Zahid Panchbhaya. The Falcons pushed back with goals from Shahzad Rana and Abu Manjra, the only two guys who seem to be providing the firepower as of late. Leading 6-2 going into the half, the Sharks won this one well before the clock hit 0. Sharks won this 7-4 in a very one sided contest.
Week 9 Previews
Bruins Vs Jets @ 8:45 pm
Friday the 13th may bring all kind of bad luck to some teams if you're 8 years old and still believe in superstitions. The Bruins and Jets will battle it out at 8:45 after both teams are coming off of demoralizing losses. The Jets were without Adil Patel for a period and missed GM Ricky Saili last week as they fell in shootout to an undermanned team. The Bruins lost their contest in regular time by one goal and will be looking to regain some respect this week. Same as always, if they can lock down on Adil Patel and cut off his avenues for making plays, the Bruins have a strong shot at winning this one. As for the Jets, Sufyaan Kazi and Arif Billa are the gentlemen to shut down if the Jets want to be assured of a win.
Nordiques Vs Hawks @ 9:45 pm
Next up, the Nordiques and Hawks will battle it out in a game that will put size against speed. The Nordiques are coming off of a tough loss and will have to make some adjustments to their style of play lest they be caught like sitting ducks against a very speedy Hawks team. The Hawks managed to pull off a big win last week with just four players and will be looking to do it again this week with some additional legs. The key to winning this game will come down to the goalies who's play will make all the difference.
Sharks Vs Falcons @ 10:45 pm
And finally, the Falcons and Sharks face off to cap off the night. Abdul Manjra put up quite the performance last week as did his opponent Syed Ahmed. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out and who will come out on top. The Falcons rely heavily on veteran skill to make plays while the Sharks have adopted a style of play that revolves around goalie Mohamed Bashir. The key to winning this game will come down to skill as both teams are evenly matched in just about all departments.

Falcons def Nordiques 7-4
The Falcons faced off against the Nordiques in our first of three games Friday night. The Nords were without their drafted goalie and had to settle for a backup. The Falcons took advantage and scored three straight to start the game with goals coming from GM Abdul Manjra (2) and Muddy Hussain. Down but not out, Huzeifa Patel would put up the Nords first of the night. Manjra would complete his hat trick before period end as the Falcons lead 4-2. The second half saw more Falcons domination as Saajid Bhayat and Abdul Manjra controlled scoring. Towards the later minutes of the game it seemed the Nords had some momentum to go on with goals from Shoaib Khan and Fayaz Kazi. Unfortunately for them, that rally fell short and the game was sealed with Manjra's fifth goal of the night. Falcons win this one 7-4.
Sharks defeat Jets 8-7 SO
The Sharks and Jets faced off next in a game that saw all-stars like Ricky Saili, Abu Hafejee, and Shoaib Rangrez out for the night. Both teams tied at 2 a piece going into the half. The second period saw both teams trade goals back and forth in a tit for tat motion with Ahmed leading the offense for the Sharks. Fahim Limbada of the Jets would have a hat trick of his own and Jets led 7-6 in the dying seconds thanks to a goal from Abu Patel. With literally a second left on the clock Ahmed would tie things up and send this game to a shootout. This one went 11 rounds before Zahid Panchbhaya would give the Sharks a very hard-earned victory.
Hawks defeat Bruins 6-5
And our last game of the night went to the Bruins and Hawks who put up quite the show. The Bruins with a full bench faced off against a Hawks squad that had only four players in attendance. With the Hawks leading 5-1 in the second, the Bruins would score a pair to cut down the lead but it would be Bhoola's third goal of the night that would cement this game in their favour. Hawks win this 6-5 in a game that had them running four players nonstop along with a call up goalie.
Week 8 Previews
Falcons Vs Nordiques @ 8:45 pm
The Falcons and Nordiques face off first this week in a game that will set the tone for the playoffs. Abu Manjra's team seems to have lost a big part of itself since their trade, and will be looking to make a point that they are not out for the count. Expect big plays from the GM himself along with workhorse Shahzad Rana. As for the Nords, coming off of a strong win will only drive them forward looking for another W. Expect another big offensive night from GM Shoaib Khan.
Jets Vs Sharks @ 9:45 pm
The Sharks and Jets face off next, which should display some very clean skillful hockey. The Sharks are coming off of a tough loss and will require all hands on deck to pull off a win against a very strong Jets team. If in attendance, expect a bigger role to be played by Abu Hafejee of the Sharks. As for the Jets, this team looks beatable only when star player Adil Patel is not present. Lock him down and have all offensive cylinders running.
Hawks Vs Bruins @ 10:45 pm
And finally the Hawks and Bruins will meet, after weeks of trash talk that should culminate in a very entertaining game. The Bruins are on a winning high after their trade and will be looking to grab another win against a Hawks team that ran out of gas last week. Expect GM Suhaib Shaikh to dictate play alongside all-star Arif Billa. As for the Hawks, both Khannats will be expected to be on top of their game if they expect to win.
Week 7 Summaries
Jets defeat Hawks 6-3
The Hawks and Jets faced off first in a game that did not live up to its offensive hype. The Jets were in control in the first half with goals from Sadik and Adil Patel. Credit goes to the Hawks for limiting them to two goals, as the game moved on into the second period 2-0 for the Jets. The Jets added two more with goals from GM Ricky Saili and defenseman Joe Bruno. Unfortunately their comeback efforts fell short as the Jets added two more to win this one 6-3.
Bruins defeat Falcons 9-4
The next game went to the Bruins and Falcons who definitely gave the league something to talk about.
