Week 6 Summaries

Falcons defeat Hawks 10-1

The Hawks and Falcons faced off, with the Falcons seeking their first win.The Hawks were yet again without Yusuf Ingar and Adil Patel, so you know how this game went. The Falcons struck first with MVP Zahid Panchbhaya and Mohammed Kazi to take the 2-0 lead. The only Hawks goal for the game came from Ken, and the Falcons went on to dominate the rest of the game. Mohammed Kazi would finish the night with a hat trick as well as Zahid Panchbhaya. Ismail Patel finished with two goals on the night. Looks like that trade did the Falcons good, as they got their first win 10-1 over the Hawks.

Nordiques defeat Bruins 5-4 SO

Next, the Bruins and Nords faced off in the most exciting game of the night. Both teams were building up all week and lived up to the hype. The Nords took quick control of the game with goals from Abdul Manjra and Shoaib Khan (2). With a 3-0 lead going into the second, the Bruins needed a game changing plan to get back into it. The Bruins started the second with 15 powerplay minutes and tied the game with goals from GM Suhaib Shaikh and Syed Ahmed (2). Abdul Manjra would get his second of the night with 5 minutes left to play, but the Bruins hero would be Faizan Kazi who would tie it up at 4 a piece. This game went to shootout and was ultimately won by the Nords, who gave up a 3-0 lead, barely saving the win.

Jets defeat Sharks 9-6

And finally the Jets and Sharks went at it in a game that did not play out as expected. The Jets struck first with a pair of goals from Jason Gogna. Vasim Kagzi would score the only goal for the Sharks, who would be outgunned 3-1 in the first period. The second period was a much more interesting game as GM Ricky Saili got things started with his second goal of the night. In a span of four minutes, the Sharks would regroup and score three straight to tie the game up at 5 a piece. Unfortunately their efforts fell short as Saili would end his night with an additional three goals, bringing his total tally on the night to five. Jets win this one 9-6 and remain undefeated on the season. This is THE team to beat.

Falcons Vs Hawks @ 8:45 pm

The Falcons and Hawks face off this week after a huge trade that saw Huzzy Panchbhaya and Joe Bruno swapped for Farhan Saleh and Ismail Patel. Both teams are expecting their new pickups to help grab some wins. The Falcons are definitely a strong team and have the potential to win, but have not yet been able to close in on it. The defensive duo of GM EBP and Farhan Saleh are expected to make a difference. As for the Hawks, it's definitive they will need Adil Patel and Yusuf Ingar on board to win.

Bruins Vs Nordiques @ 9:45 pm

The Bruins and Nords face off next in the most talked about match up yet. Remember these teams both traded away some key players in a surprise blitz and the feelings are still hurt. Expect big plays from Yahya Ingar and Syed Ahmed as GM Suhaib Shaikh is putting all his guns forward. As for the Nords, Abdul Manjra, Shoaib Rangrez and Shoaib Khan are expected to take the offensive lead. At the end, this comes down to the goalies and both Kaleem Mirza and Mohammed Bashir have something to prove.

As for the Jets, they remain undefeated on the season and hope to continue their winning ways. There really is not much leeway I can give to either team, and this game will have to be watched to end to end to see who takes it.

Week 5 Summaries

Nordiques defeat Hawks 8-3

The Nords and Hawks faced off at 9pm with the Hawks only having one viable sub thanks to the GMs letting Faiz Vaid play. His presence was much needed as the Nords piled on the goals one after the other. Farhan Saleh would be the hero for the Hawks as he scored the only three goals for the team. Leading 5-1 at the half, the Nords did not let up and walked away with an easy 8-3 win. Hawks superstars Adil Patel and Yusuf Ingar are expected to return for the next game.

the clock! This game went to shootout and saw the Sharks come out on top. What a game.

The second period saw the Jets control the game and inched away slowly

for the 10-6 win. Jason Gogna had 4 goals in the second to lead the way for the Jets.

Week 5 Previews

Nordiques Vs Hawks @ 8:45 pm

The Nordiques take on the Hawks this week in what should be an even match up. Both teams are coming off of tough losses and will be looking to grab a W. The Nords are still working with chemistry as the new additions of Abdul Manjra, Shoaib Rangrez, Asif Saleh and Varish Shaikh require some working. As for the Hawks, the team needs to come up with a contingency plan in case GM Adil Patel is not present. Offensive capabilities have become a focus for both teams.

Sharks Vs Bruins @ 9:45 pm

Next, the Bruins and Sharks go at it with both teams bringing an array of skill and talent. The Sharks have been phenomenal as of late and do not seem to have any liabilities. As for the Bruins, the tandem of Yahya Ingar and Syed Ahmed is back online. This game will come down to the play of the goalies, and Abbas Shaikh at this point in time seems to be the hottest goalie this season.

Jets Vs Falcons @ 10:45 pm

And finally the Falcons take on the Jets. One team is yet without a win while the other has no idea what a loss is. The Falcons kept it close last week with Zahid Panchbhaya taking the lead. Expect more contributions from Shahrukh Shah and Mohammed Kazi this game to distribute offense. As for the Jets, goalie Mohammed AK Patel has been amazing in net while offense seems to be taking care of itself.

Sharks defeat Nordiques 9-4

The Sharks and Nords faced off first, with GM Shoaib Khan recently acquiring veteran talent. Abu Hafejee and Maaz Panchbhaya of the Sharks would score first to give the Sharks the 2-0 lead within the first few minutes of the game. The Nords would get one back thanks to Belal Ahmed but the Sharks were all over them and easily grabbed the 4-1 lead going into the second. They would find some traction as Abdul Manjra and Shoaib Rangrez put up goals, but the Sharks took advantage of multiple 2-on-1's to beat goalie Kaleem Mirza. The Sharks won this one 9-4 and are proving to be the greatest threat this season.

Jets defeat Hawks 7-5
