Week 5 Previews

Nordiques Vs Hawks @ 8:45 pm

The Nordiques take on the Hawks this week in what should be an even match up. Both teams are coming off of tough losses and will be looking to grab a W. The Nords are still working with chemistry as the new additions of Abdul Manjra, Shoaib Rangrez, Asif Saleh and Varish Shaikh require some working. As for the Hawks, the team needs to come up with a contingency plan in case GM Adil Patel is not present. Offensive capabilities have become a focus for both teams.

Sharks Vs Bruins @ 9:45 pm

Next, the Bruins and Sharks go at it with both teams bringing an array of skill and talent. The Sharks have been phenomenal as of late and do not seem to have any liabilities. As for the Bruins, the tandem of Yahya Ingar and Syed Ahmed is back online. This game will come down to the play of the goalies, and Abbas Shaikh at this point in time seems to be the hottest goalie this season.

Jets Vs Falcons @ 10:45 pm

And finally the Falcons take on the Jets. One team is yet without a win while the other has no idea what a loss is. The Falcons kept it close last week with Zahid Panchbhaya taking the lead. Expect more contributions from Shahrukh Shah and Mohammed Kazi this game to distribute offense. As for the Jets, goalie Mohammed AK Patel has been amazing in net while offense seems to be taking care of itself.

Week 4 Summaries

Sharks defeat Nordiques 9-4

The Sharks and Nords faced off first, with GM Shoaib Khan recently acquiring veteran talent. Abu Hafejee and Maaz Panchbhaya of the Sharks would score first to give the Sharks the 2-0 lead within the first few minutes of the game. The Nords would get one back thanks to Belal Ahmed but the Sharks were all over them and easily grabbed the 4-1 lead going into the second. They would find some traction as Abdul Manjra and Shoaib Rangrez put up goals, but the Sharks took advantage of multiple 2-on-1's to beat goalie Kaleem Mirza. The Sharks won this one 9-4 and are proving to be the greatest threat this season.

Jets defeat Hawks 7-5

The Hawks and Jets faced off next in a game that showed how crucial GM Adil Patel is to his team. The Hawks got on board first with a goal from Patel, and the Hawks kept the game in their control. Moosa Bhoola would tie things up, only to see Ismail Patel snipe past goalie Mohammed AK Patel for the 2-1 lead. Manjot Bhatti would tie it up for the Jets, but the Hawks had the upper hand as Ken Modeste and Yusuf Ingar gave the Hawks the 4-2 lead going into the half. At this point, GM Adil Patel left the game and the second period was a completely different game. The Jets scored three straight to start, which included a pair from Jason Gogna and closed this one out 7-5. The Jets remain undefeated on the season.

Bruins defeat Falcons 5-4

And finally the new look Bruins took on the Falcons in what was the closest game of the night. Zahid Panchbhaya and Mohammed Kazi would score to give the Falcons the 2-0 lead. The Bruins would snap back into it with goals from Syed Ahmed and Yahya Ingar. That being said, the Falcons were on point first period and saw MVP Zahid Panchbhaya score another two goals for the first period hat trick. Falcons lead 4-2 going into the second. The second period saw a lockdown on defense from the Bruins and they rallied back with goals from Arif Hanslod and Faizan Kazi to tie things up. With 40 seconds left in the game, the hero would be Yahya Ingar who would give the Bruins the 5-4 win.

Week 4 Previews

Nordiques Vs Sharks @ 8:45 pm

The 2-1 Sharks take on the 1-2 Nordiques this week, after GM Shoaib Khan traded away Shahrukh Shah and Mohammed Kazi for Syed Ahmed and Asif Saleh. Khan is hoping the trade will help bolster the team against a Sharks squad that is deceivingly strong and now complete thanks to the attendance of playmaker Abu Hafejee. GM Omar Hussain is playing a strong offensive game with enough faith in goalie Abbas Shaikh to push forward. The Nords will need to come out strong with all pistons firing if they want to hit .500.

Hawks Vs Jets @ 9:45 pm

Next up the Hawks take on the 3-0 Jets. The Jets have been on a roll, and some say have been very lucky. If GM Adil Patel can get a full squad and run the team as he has in the past, the Jets just may be in for their first loss of the season. That being said, GM Ricky Saili has been relentless in making plays and secondary scorers have now taken the offensive lead. Goalie Mohammed AK Patel has been superb to say the least. Expect a chippy game.

Bruins Vs Falcons @ 10:45 pm

And finally the winless Falcons take on the Bruins after making a trade, getting Shahrukh Shah and Mohammed Kazi to bolster offense. The Falcons will need it as the main offensive force to date has been Huzzy Pancbhaya. Expect GM Erfan Bhanapatel to switch up the lines accordingly as he aims for the first win of the season. As for the Bruins, GM Suhaib Shaikh is running a fluid team that is getting work done. This is going to be a good one folks.

Week 3 Summaries

Bruins defeat Hawks 7-3

The Hawks and Bruins kicked things off Friday night. The Hawks were without GM Adil Patel and bid farewell to Harris Iqbal. The Bruins could not have played a more perfect first period as they lit up goalie Nadir Ahmed for 5 first period goals. Shoaib Rangrez had a pair while GM Suhaib Shaikh, Arif Billa Hanslod and Faizan Kazi scored their first of the night. Bruins lead 5-0 going into the second and the Hawks are not happy at all. Yusuf Ingar and Farhan Saleh would finally get the Hawks up on the scoreboard in the second, but this game was already over as the Bruins played a defensive second and killed the clock. Bruins win this one easily 7-3 and goalie Kaleem Mirza enjoyed a slow night between the pipes.

Jets defeat Nordiques 6-3

The Jets and Nords faced off next with GM Shoaib Khan out of the picture. The Jets took full advantage and scored three goals to start the game, coming from Ricky Saili and Manjot Bhatti (2). The Nords cut the deficit to one with goals from Belal Ahmed and Shahrukh Shah. Before period end, Dalvinder Kang would score his first of the night to give the Jets the 4-2 lead. The Nords looked depleted and played as such, but kudos to them for keeping the Jets limited to two goals in the second half. Yahya Ingar would have the lone goal in the second period for his team as the Nordiques were routed quite easily 6-3. Jets are 3-0 to start the season.

Sharks defeat Falcons 8-6

And finally the Falcons faced off against the Sharks. The Falcons bench was looking quite thin with the 3 players out of commission for the night. The Sharks struck first with goals from Maaz Panchbhaya and Sufyaan Shaikh. Huzzy Panchbhaya would get the Falcons on the board, only to be scored on by the likes of Omar Hussain and Vasim Kagzi. Give it up to last season's MVP to keep the Falcons in the game with a pair of goals. Bittersweet as Abu Hafejee, first appearance this season, would score with less than a minute left in the first. Sharks lead 6-3. The Falcons looked a lot more focused in the second and goalie Yasir Hussain was tip top as the Sharks were limited to only two goals. Zahid Panchbhaya would complete his hat trick, trailing 7-6. Unfortunately for the Falcons, the strong effort wasn't enough as they dropped this one 8-6.
